So you are pregnant! Or maybe are planning a pregnancy! Join us for this 2½-hour seminar to learn more about prenatal care, what’s happening during the different trimesters in pregnancy, protecting your baby, diet & nutrition, travel & exercise, dealing with the discomforts of pregnancy, getting the support you need during and after your pregnancy, breastfeeding and important decisions to start thinking about! Breastfeeding Class

We will discuss how breastfeeding works, the anatomy of the breast, the milk production cycle, special circumstances such as premature babies or breast surgery, latching on and positioning, when to feed your baby, feeding guidelines, how much is enough, breast care, nipple care and breastfeeding lifestyle. Comfort Measures and Breathing

Please dress comfortably for this fun, interactive class that reviews relaxation and breathing techniques, laboring positions & comfort measures that will encourage and offer the most assistance through the different stages of labor and pushing. We will discuss how to openly communicate with your OBGYN provider and members of their group to assist you in preparing for childbirth with or without medication. Infant Safety & CPR
(Class dates/times/locations below) This is a 2-hour Friends and Family course that discusses how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes of an emergency until professional help arrives, preventing injuries, recognizing and treating cardiopulmonary emergencies, and treating choking in infants and children. We also discuss infant safety, SIDS, crib safety, childproofing your home, etc. It is ideal for parents and grandparents, babysitters, other nonprofessional caretakers responsible for children’s safety who do NOT need a course completion credential. Newborn Baby Care Class
(Class dates/times/locations below) This is a 2-hour course that discusses newborn appearances, eating and sleeping, baby cues/crying, comfort techniques, health, safety & signs of illness. It also provides hands on practice for holding, diapering, dressing, swaddling, bathing and taking your baby’s temperature. The class also provides many helpful hints gathered from experienced mothers. Handouts and an easy to understand See What You Read Mother and New Baby Care book are provided.
