Childbirth Education

This is a 3 hour course for the expectant mother and her partner. This class was designed by an experienced labor & delivery nurse. We will discuss: how to prepare for your labor, the basic anatomy and physiology of late pregnancy and the onset of labor, when to call the doctor/go to the hospital, what to do if your water breaks, what labor contractions will be like, pushing and the delivery of your baby! This class also reviews interventions including: epidurals, vacuums, forceps, episiotomies/tearing and c-sections. We review the role of the labor partner, what to expect at the hospital and preparing for success once you bring baby home. Our students leave feeling educated, empowered and prepared for the process! Included in your course fee is a copy of the 72 page InJoy Understanding Birth Booklet with a 6 month subscription to seewhatyouread.com which contains all content covered in class, plus online videos, worksheets and checklists. You will also receive complimentary access to our 1 hour C-Section webinar which covers preparing for the procedure, what to expect at the hospital, recovery and breastfeeding after a C-Section.

When registering for class, each $150.00 seat is for a couple. The price remains the same with or without your partner in attendance.

This class is recommended for mothers who are considering the use of pain medication during their labor & birth process but it may be taken by those who plan to deliver without medication. If you would like this content, as well as comfort measures and breathing techniques to help extend your time in labor before medication or for a natural (no medication) birth, consider our Natural Childbirth Class.
